Dr. Ren Krinick, PhD
Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in OCD, phobias, anxiety, perfectionism, relationships, and work life balance
I work with thoughtful, driven people who are often highly capable in their professional lives but find themselves getting stuck in anxiety, overthinking, perfectionism, or self doubt.
You may be someone who is used to solving difficult problems and handling a lot of responsibility. But when anxiety takes over, those same strengths can become exhausting. You may replay decisions, seek certainty, worry about making the wrong choice, or have difficulty being fully present at work or in your relationships.
My goal is to help you step out of those cycles.
I am a cognitive behavioral psychologist with more than 10 years of experience treating OCD and anxiety disorders. My style is active, collaborative, warm, and practical. Together, we work to understand what is keeping you stuck and help you respond differently.
The goal is not to become less ambitious or lower your standards. It is to be less controlled by anxiety, doubt, and the need for certainty so that more of your energy can go toward your work, relationships, and the life you want to build.
My Specialities
-
OCD does not always look the way people expect. It can involve intrusive thoughts, repeated checking, reassurance seeking, mental reviewing, fears about relationships, health concerns, contamination fears, or a strong need to know that you have made the right decision.
For intelligent and analytical people, this can be especially frustrating. Thinking harder feels like it should solve the problem. Instead, the search for certainty can become part of what keeps the cycle going.
I have advanced training in Exposure and Response Prevention, or ERP, one of the most effective treatments for OCD and related anxiety conditions. We work on reducing compulsive behaviors and avoidance, becoming more comfortable with uncertainty, and helping you make decisions based on what matters to you rather than what anxiety is demanding.
More Here -
Many of the people I work with are conscientious, ambitious, and accustomed to expecting a great deal from themselves.
Those qualities can be major strengths. They can also become difficult when high standards turn into constant self evaluation, fear of mistakes, overthinking, or an inability to mentally leave work behind.
Therapy can help you separate the drive that serves you from the anxiety that drains you.
We may work on managing uncertainty, reducing rumination, setting better boundaries, navigating professional pressure, and developing a more sustainable relationship with achievement.
-
Anxiety and perfectionism often show up in relationships too.
You may find yourself overthinking interactions, seeking reassurance, questioning your feelings, struggling with conflict, or repeatedly trying to figure out whether something is wrong.
I help clients understand these patterns and develop healthier ways of navigating uncertainty, communication, and connection.
